MOI_QuarterCircle
This procedure returns properties of a quarter circle in the direction perpendicular to one flat surface.
Call MOI_QuarterCircle(r: A, I, Z, rho, y_bar)
Inputs
r = radius [m, ft]
Outputs
A = area [m^2, ft^2]
I = moment of inertia about the centroid [m^4, ft^4]
Z = section modulus [m^3, ft^3]
rho = radius of gyration about the centroid [m, ft]
y_bar = distance from flat surface to neutral axis [m, ft]
Example:
$Load Mechanical Design
$UnitSystem SI K Pa
$VarInfo A units=m^2
$VarInfo I units=m^4
$VarInfo rho units=m
$VarInfo y_bar units=m
$VarInfo Z units=m^3
r = 0.1 [m]
Call moi_quartercircle(r: A, I, Z, rho, y_bar)
{Solution:
A = 0.007854 m^2
I = 5.488e-6 m^4
Z = 9.534e-5 m^3
rho = 0.02643 m
y_bar = 0.04244 m
}
