Plate with opposed u-shaped notches under tension



Function SCF_1 returns the stress concentration factor for a plate with two opposed U-shaped notches along its length. The plate is subject to axial tension along its length. 

Inputs:
H - the width of the plate ([m] or [ft])
t - the depth of the notch from the edge (maximum normal distance between edge face and notch)  ([m] or [ft])
r - the radius of the notch  ([m] or [ft])

Example:  
$Load Mechanical Design
$UnitSystem SI K Pa 
H=0.4 [m]
t=0.04 [m]
r=0.025 [m]
SCF=scf_1(H,t,r)

SCF=2.691 
}
