K_c_CircularTubeHeader



The K_c_CircularTubeHeader(Re, LoverD, sigma) function returns the contraction coefficient for a header in which flow enters a set of circular tubes.

The inputs are:
Re = Reynolds number in the channel
LoverD = Length of channel to diameter
sigma = ratio of area for flow in all of the tubes to area for flow in the header

Note that the contraction coefficient is defined in terms of  the velocity in the tubes.  

Example:
Re=4000
LoverD=10
sigma=0.4
K_c=k_c_circulartubeheader(Re,LoverD,sigma)

{Solution:
K_c = 0.3692
}


Notes:
For Re>3000 the solution from Kays and London (1984) are used for turbulent flow.  For Re<2000 the information presented in Webb (2006) is used.  From 2000<Re<3000 the result is interpolated between laminar and turbulent.
