Allow Equations for Input Variables

The Professional license allows numerical input values to optionally be entered using an equation if the Allow equation checkbox is checked.  The equation can included numerical values and/or EES variables that have been previously defined in the main program.  New variables cannot be defined by entering them within an Input variable.  As an example, variable T[1] has been selected to be an input variable for which equations may be entered.  Examples of acceptable inputs are as follows:

Note that if variable names (e.g., D, L, etc) are used in the equation, they must be previously defined in the main program.

Equations allow EES to effectively provide a built-in calculator for inputs.  However, note that the equations are not evaluated until the Solve (or Solve Table, etc.) command is issued.

A Diagram Calculate button with a Reset option can be used to reset the equations for all inputs to '1'.
