DragForce_ellipticalbeam
Procedure DragForce_ellipticalbeam returns the drag force on an elliptical beam on infinte extent
Inputs
Fluid$ - the name of any fluid in the EES data base. Fluid$ may be a string constant or a string variable.
T - temperature in the defined unit system [F,C,R,K]
P - pressure in the defined unit system [Pa,kPa,bar,MPa,psia,atm]
v - free stream fluid velocity in [m/s, ft/min]
D1 - dimension of the ellipse in the flow direction [m or ft]
D2 - dimension of the ellipse perpendicular to the flow direction [m or ft]
Outputs
F_d\L - drag force per unit length [N/m or lbf/ft]
C_d - drag coefficient {optional; based on D1}
Re - Reynolds number {optional; based on D1}
This procedure calls function DragCoefficient_ellipticalbeam{1055} to obtain the drag coefficient.
Example:
$UnitSystem SI C kPa
Fluid$='Air'
T=25 [C]
P=Po#
v=10 [m/s]
D1=0.1 [m]
D2=0.05 [m]
CALL DragForce_ellipticalbeam(Fluid$,T,P,v,D1,D2:F_d\L,C_d,Re)
{Solution:
C_d=0.327
F_d\L=1.936
