n-Decane

n-Decane provides high accuracy thermodynamic properties for normal decane (C10H22), MW 142.2817 g/gmole) using the Fundamental Equation of State presented in:

Short Fundamental Equations of State for 20 Industrial Fluids

Eric W. Lemmon, Roland Span

J. Chem. Eng. Data, 2006, 51 (3), 785-850

The correlation is valid for temperatures in the range between 243 K and  675K for pressures less than 800 MPa.  Enthalpy and entropy values are referenced to 200 kJ/kg and 1 kJ/kg-K respectively for saturated liquid at 273.15 K.

Transport properties are provided using correlations given in:

Yaws, Carl L., ed. Chemical Properties Handbook. New York: McGraw-Hill, 1999.

Surface tension data are provided using the information in:

Mulero, A., Cachadina, I, and Parra, M.

"Recommended Correlations for the Surface Tension of Common Fluids"

J.Phys. Chem Ref. Data, Vol. 41, No.4, 2012

The melting pressure curve (valid for temperatures between the triple point temperature and 293 K) is determined from:

A. Würflinger,

"Differential Thermal Analysis under High Pressures IV,"

Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie 79 (1975), 1195-1201.
