Isobutene

Isobutene  provides high accuracy thermodynamic properties for isobutene (C4H8, 2-methyl-1-propene, MW 56.106 g/gmole, CAS No. 115-11-7) using the Fundamental Equation of State presented in:

Lemmon, E.W. and Ihmels, E.C.,

"Thermodynamic Properties of the Butenes.  Part II. Short Fundamental Equations of State,"

Fluid Phase Equilibria, 228-229, pp.173-187, 2005.

The correlation is valid for temperatures in the range between triple point at 132.4 K to 525 K for pressures less than 50 MPa.

Enthalpy and entropy values are referenced to zero for saturated liquid at the normal boiling point of 266.1 K.

Transport properties are provided using correlations given in:

Yaws, Carl L., ed. Chemical Properties Handbook. New York: McGraw-Hill, 1999.

Surface tension data are provided using the information in:

Mulero, A., Cachadina, I, and Parra, M.

"Recommended Correlations for the Surface Tension of Common Fluids"

J.Phys. Chem Ref. Data, Vol. 41, No.4, 2012
