n-Hexadecane

 

n-Hexadecane provides property data for n-Hexadecane (C16H34, MW 226.441 g/gmole, CAS# 544-76-3).  The substance is also known as hexadecane.   The thermodynamic and transport properties are obtained using the methods described by:

The properties are valid for temperatures between 291.3K (the triple point) and 800 K for pressures up to 50 MPa.

 

The NBP reference is used for specific enthalpy and entropy, i.e., h=0 kJ/kg and s=0 kJ/kg-K for saturated liquid at the normal boiling point (559.9 K)

 

Viscosity, thermal conductivity, and surface tension are determined using the correlations provided in:
