Equation Window Status Bar

A status bar (shown below) is provided at the bottom of the Equations window that shows the current setting of various controls and provides an easy way to modify therm.

Clicking the mouse in the first panel will toggle the display background color from white to black or from black to white.  Text colors are adjusted to improve readability.  More options relating to the display are provided in the Display Options tab of the Preferences dialog.

The second panel shows keyboard setting (US/EU).  The US/EU setting is set by the Region and Language choice in the Windows Control Panel.  The choices affect whether the decimal part of a real number is delimited with the decimal point (US) or comma (EU) as well as other differences.  This choice can also be overwritten with the $Keyboard directive.

Clicking the line numbers panel will toggle the display of line numbers on the left border of the Equations window.

Clicking Wrap will toggle the setting of the word wrap option.  When On, long lines will be displayed on multiple lines in the Equations word wrap so that the entire line can be viewed without scrolling

The Unit System panel shows the currently selected unit system.  Clicking the mouse in the panel will bring up the  Unit system dialog allowing the unit system to be changed.

The Warnings panel will show On, Off or Disable.  Warnings can be enabled or disabled in the Options tab of the Preferences dialog or with the $Warning directive.  When the status bar shows Warning:On, the Warning Information dialog will automatically appear after calculations are completed when warning messages exist.  If the status bar shows Warnings:Off, warnings that were generated can be viewed by selecting Warnings from the Windows menu.

The Unit Checking status is shown in the Unit Chk panel.  The panel will show On, Off or Auto. EES will attempt to set the units of some variable automatically if the "Set units automatically if possible" in the Options tab of the Preferences dialog is selected. In this case, the Unit Chk panel in the Equation Window status bar will display "Auto".

Syntax highlighting can be turned on/off by clicking the Highlight panel in the status bar at the bottom of the Equations window.  When Syntax Highlighting is in effect, comments, strings, and directives will be displayed in their selected font colors when the equations are solved or checked. The highlighting effects can be customized in the Syntax Highlighting tab of the Preferences dialog.  Clicking the right mouse button in the Highlight panel of the status bar will bring up this dialog.  The time required to compile equations is necessarily longer when syntax highlighting is used. Turn it off if compiling time is excessive.

Clicking the Auto Comp panel enables or disables the Auto Complete option..  Right-click in this panel to customize the list of recognized words that appear in the Auto Complete window.
